Ferric oleate
Ferric oleate may be used as an organometallic catalyst in the manufacturing of synthetic rubber; as an additive in lubricating oils and greases; or as an additive in the paint and ink industries. Most importantly, ferric oleate is a popular starting material in the preparation of iron oxide-based magnetic nanoparticles, with varied applications in pharma, magnetic separations, and ferrofluids. In the chemical industry, ferric oleate is an effective, oil-soluble, environmentally benign, organo-substitute for ferric chlorides, sulfates, nitrates, or oxy hydroxides.
